Workouts and My Newest Obsessions

Dead lifts (#185) during "Diane" -7/21
Workouts at Anvil, were just as challenging this week as ever. We did enough deadlifts and wall balls to last me at least a month! haha Last week, we did deadlifts as a part of our strength (like we will continue to do for the next couple of weeks) I was really excited that for 4x5 I was able to pull 205, this week I did 5x4 at 210! AHH, so excited, and I am no where near as sore as I was after last weeks! I am hoping to get 220 for this upcoming weeks lifts, fingers crossed I am feeling strong enough. I am hesitant just because we did A LOT of deadlifts this week. Monday (7/21) was Diane's birthday, so we did the "girl" Diane, I'm not sure it that is the best way to reference that, but I have deleted and retyped and nothing better is coming to mind haha.
HSPU- or more of my bun touched and I was good.. haha -7/21

(The Girls are a series of workouts that crossfit has created, and are named after women... ie: diane, grace, karen ect) Diane is originally 21-15-9 of Hand Stand Push Ups, and Deadlifts. At the gym we changed it up a little 15-12-9-6-3 of those exercises, except to be able to complete the workout, I did deadlifts at 185 lbs and  HSPU I did a rep scheme of 10-8-6-4-2.

Wednesday (7/23) we did a circuit style workout with wall balls, and basically what it comes down to is that I hate wall balls, I have gotten better at them, but I still hate them. After my workout I went up to Turlock to visit with my Grandma for a few hours. i love being able to spend time with her. I know I should do it more because I am only an hour and a half drive or train ride from her.

I wasn't able to make it to CrossFit Valkommen, but an acquaintance through the gym/crossfit had a tragic event happen to her and her family. Her nephew, of only 5 months passed away from SIDS. Being that many don't prepare for funeral services at such a young age, the gym put on a free workout, where we could come together and raise funds for the family. If you would like, and are able to donate to the families funds, here is the link For Levi.

My double under were soooo good! 7/23

Thursday(7/24) we did more heavy deadlifts, thats when I hit 210 5x4! We also did a killer Ground to overhead workout. I tried to push through this workout, when I wanted to stop, I tried to keep moving, it was tough. I am glad I was able to the workout at the RX'd weight of 95#, especially after doing heavy DL.
Adriana & Diane finishing strong

Then there was Saturday... Oh Saturday. We did 5 Rounds of 10 DL, and 20 wall balls. I did the deadlifts at #155 because I knew I was already fatigued from this week. The weight wasn't challenging, but dear lord it was tough, especially with having to do wall balls after every set. Like I previously said, I am ecstatic if deadlifts and wall balls are not in a workout for a while haha.

Cristal and I at the end of the workout- pretty much sums it up

Adding to my crazy schedule of work, swim lessons, and CrossFit Training for the competion I am doing at the end of August, I officially start training for my half marathon in October tomorrow (Monday 7/28) Yey! just kidding, I am trying to type this and smile to show that i am really excited, but it is really hard to do haha. I am excited for the race, but I am nervous to train for it. I am struggling with how different running has been from me,since I have gained weight and my injury I received last time through training. I know how I need to approach this training, and my nutrition/diet has been the best that it has been, and getting better, I just hope this goes as smoothly as possible.I am so scared for the splits I might have tomorrow, I don't even want to wear my Garmin! One other thing I am not totally stoked for, training in the heat! Ugh, it's the worst, but I would rather do that then train in the cold. I just hate getting out of bed though out the winter, and we don't really have a winter her in central California! haha

Moving on to something other than CrossFit and workouts, even though these kinda go hand in hand haha.

First, I am going to admit that I have a problem, I don't think that I have addressed it here. I am obsessed with workout clothes, and more specifically, Lululemon. But, real life, I believe in quality. If I find something that works for me, when I say works for me, I mean with me. If I am comfortable, it hugs, and tightens everything up in the right places, it can handle my sweat, fit my large bottom, and my smaller waist (proportionally at least haha) doesn't chafe me and isn't see-through*(?) I don't mind spending a little extra money, and let me tell you, it makes a world of difference with your workouts when you aren't concerned with your clothes the whole time.
Currently, I am obsessing over the camo print that they have released on some items, more specifically the crops and pants! Ahhhhh I  just love them. Just in case I'm a size 8 haha ;)

Last, I took the beauty plunge and purchased GlamGlow Super Mud Clearing Treatment Mask! Crazy, I know, $60 for a mask?(If you are nervous about purchasing this, ask for a sample from Sephora!) I have used if for the past couple weeks, initially I felt that my skin was brighter, and my pores appear smaller. I have had the same reaction that many have had, I broke out, horribly. I do believe that it is because it is pulling all the junk out from my skin, I have to get rid of it somehow. I have been putting a dab on each breakout to spot treat while sleeping, and I do feel that it has helped with shortening the life of the breakout haha!

I have also changed my skin care regimen in general, I am working on finding the best routine that I possibly can, so my face can be glowing and acne free. With the help of Rachel Burkules, I'm using my CLARISONIC( I linked the package that I purchased) and cleanse with Fresh Soy Cleanser, Lush Tea Tree Water, and use Fresh Lotus to moisturize.I am also  Lush Ocean Salt Scrub to exfoliate, and GlamGlow for my current mask. I am on the search for a nighttime eye cream, if you have any suggestions please leave a comment.

Well, thanks for reading!
xoxo
